callas software to present new developments for automated PDF processing at Graph Expo 2007

Berlin, August 7th, 2007. Berlin-based callas software – experts in the development of high-quality PDF validation and optimization tools for prepress processes, publishing, and archiving – is to present new products and workflow solutions at the Graph Expo (9 – 12 September 2007 in Chicago, US) along with its strategic partner Gradual Software (Belgium) on stand 5358.

The automatic versions of the callas software PDF processing modules for PDF color conversion, correction, and verification can be called directly when using Gradual Software’s FullSWITCH and PowerSWITCH. This enables users to set up efficient, time-saving PDF workflows. The easy-to-use SWITCH interface allows users to quickly set up diverse PDF verification, color optimization, and correction workflows based on the callas software pdfColorConvert, pdfCorrect, and pdfInspektor CLI modules.

pdfColorConvert, the ideal tool for color management and conversion, is to be presented both as a command-line module (CLI) for automation and as a plug-in for Adobe Acrobat Standard and Professional. This general-purpose tool for prepress processes reliably converts colors in PDF files between all possible color spaces, including RGB to black and spot colors or to CMYK. Naturally, it also supports DeviceLink profiles especially for CMYK to CMYK color conversion as well as current PDF standards. pdfColorConvert makes professional color management quick and easy to implement.

Moreover, callas software is presenting a new, enhanced pdfCorrect version both as a plug-in and as a command-line module (CLI) for automation. In addition to the familiar features that eliminate over 60 production problems in PDF files, this tool will offer completely new possibilities for PDF processing: As well as being able to use pdfCorrect to strengthen hairlines or remove OPI comments as previously, you can now embed missing fonts later on or modify the page geometry.

callas software’s pdfInspektor4 ensures high reliability when verifying PDF files in automated PDF workflow systems. Thanks to over 800 individually configurable verification options, pdfInspektor4 is a flexible and precise verification tool that can be modified to suit any possible workflow conditions. Clear and comprehensible reports with specific information make it easier to fine tune the entire PDF prepress procedure, thereby helping users to avoid errors when generating PDFs.
