callas software announces pdfColorConvert PRO – The Plug-in for Adobe Acrobat is equipped with new features for enhanced PDF color conversion

callas software`s universal tool for professional color conversion of PDF files – pdfColorConvert – is now even more indispensable for prepress, printing houses, newspaper or journal publishing houses: In its new „PRO“-Version the Adobe Acrobat plug-in offers support for device link profiles, the potential of adjustment with gradation adoption and CMYK to RGB color-conversion for website usage. pdfColorConvert PRO will be shown for the first time at the Graph Expo in Chicago.

Berlin, 5. September 2007. callas software will be presenting an enhanced version of the Adobe Acrobat plug-in pdfColorConvert live at the Graph Expo in Chicago, Il, USA. (9 – 12 September 2007). The tool which will be available in October this year is packed with new features that make the tool even more practical for professional usage in prepress and print.

pdfColorConvert PRO now supports and is equipped with device link profiles for even more harmonious conversion results, whilst also preserving the black channel. Thanks to the integration of the most commonly used device link profiles, this unique tool can now adapt even better to various printing conditions according to international printing standards. pdfColorConvert PRO, when used with a specially customized device link profile, provides essential support not only for achieving optimum color conversion, but for optimizing ink coverage and can therefore save the total use of ink as well.

Furthermore the new pdfColorConvert PRO plug-in can now also apply gradation adoptions to vector/text and/or image objects. While an ICC conversion of vector elements usually result in contaminated colors, a gradation adoption of tone values guaranties pure colors to stay pure. The actual percentage for the gradation adoption gets either calculated automatically from the source and destination ICC profile, or per entering the value the dot gain should get compensated. This way, vector elements can get adopted, too, when converting a complete PDF to another printing condition using ICC profiles without them getting re-separated.

Another new feature of pdfColorConvert PRO is the ability to convert CMYK and/ or Spot colors based PDF files to RGB e.g. for Internet usage. Normally pdfColorConvert Pro requires, with its easily understood user interface, only three different parameter settings for PDF color optimization. With the color space designation of the original file, the definition of the conversion goal, as well as the handling of spot colors, every imaginable conversion is possible. The most important ICC profiles, based on ISO standards, are provided with pdfColorConvert PRO and thus enable everyone to perform professional color management – whether for printing, the internet, or CD-/DVD-ROM production.

pdfColorConvert PRO will be available as plug-in for Adobe Acrobat Standard or Professional 6, 7 or 8 for Windows 2000/XP/Vista as well Mac OS X (version 10.2.8 or higher).
