PDF tools from callas software are ready for “Leopard”

The popular and tried-and-tested callas software PDF tools for professional color conversion, correction of typical sources of errors while printing and for optimizing PDF files for prepress, printing and long-term archiving with PDF/A already support the new operating system from Apple Inc. - Mac OS X v10.5 “Leopard”.

26.10.2007. Apple Macintosh users have waited since weeks for this moment: From today, the new operating system – Mac OS X 10.5 “Leopard” – will be available worldwide. With more than 300 new functions, it offers a comfort level that Apple system owners have hitherto never known before. Users of earlier Apple operating systems, Adobe Acrobat Professional and Standard and callas software plug-ins as well as the command line modules can switch to the new operating system without problems. Extensive series of tests at callas software in the last few weeks showed that: callas software products for optimization of existing PDF files for prepress, printing and PDF/A impressed with their speed, stability and versatility even under Leopard.

Whoever uses PDF professionally as data format – for prepress, printing or archiving – together with callas software products, enjoys all the necessary tools to optimize and repair existing PDF files: With pdfColorConvert, users can adjust colors to various print conditions directly in the PDF quickly and easily without in-depth knowledge of color management or for example, directly convert spot colors to CMYK with a mouse click. In addition, the new pdfColorConvert PRO offers support of DeviceLink profiles for more harmonic color conversions. pdfCorrect locates and corrects more than 60 different problems for professional printing. The pdfaPilot optimizes, corrects and converts existing PDF files for use in archives. The user-friendly plug-ins from callas software are all based on the latest PDF technology, as they are also used in the new Acrobat 8, and hence already support the MacIntel processors in the latest Apple Macintosh computers.

Even the automatable command line modules – pdfColorConvert CLI, pdfColorConvert PRO CLI, pdfCorrect CLI for prepress and pdfaPilot Validator CLI and pdfaPilot Converter CLI for PDF/A – fully support the new Leopard operating system from Apple. They can be addressed and operated either via the supplied user interface pdfAutomator, using Script language or with automation software, e.g. FullSWITCH or PowerSWITCH from Gradual Software.
