Berlin, March 8, 2006. callas software’s Managing Director Olaf Druemmer just launched his new company axaio software GmbH – founded specifically to take over responsibility for the product lines MadeToPrint, MadeToCompare and FontIncluder from callas software. callas software on the other hand will focus on PDF technologies, solutions and tools only.

“The reason for founding the new company has been that we are now able to focus more specifically on productivity tools for publishing and print processes. These tools have proved to be indispensable tools for serious production, whether using InDesign, QuarkXPress, the editiorial workflow systems Softcare K4, Woodwing SCE or Quark .“ says Achim Kuhlmann, axaio software’s Product Marketing Manager.

axaio software GmbH has its own team focusing entirely on the products MadeToPrint, MadeToCompare and FontIncluder. The mission? To intensify and accelerate the future development of these solutions, to even better and more specifically address the needs of our customers, as well as to further optimize our support offerings in cooperation with our sales partners and integrators.

From now on, callas software GmbH will engage exclusively in products and technology pertaining to Acrobat and PDF, as for example pdfColorConvert, pdfCorrect, pdfLayerMaker, pdfAutoOptimizer, pdfImpose, as well as pdfInspektor3 (also known as “Preflight” in Acrobat 6 and 7 Professional).

“Under the callas software roof we had our PDF tools and PDF technology on the one hand, and our extensions and plug-ins for layout applications and editorial workflow systems on the other, and the overall situation was becoming too diverse for the two to co-exist smoothly,” comments Olaf Drümmer. “Making two companies out of one puts each of the two companies in the position to better target our sometimes very different markets and to involve our partner network more effectively.“

Every effort has been made to assure a smooth transition and complete continuity for MadeToPrint, MadeToCompare and FontIncluder customers. Consequently, support and maintenance agreements will retain their validity, as will all of our agreements with partners in the sales, consultancy and integration services sectors. Nor will there be any changes with regard to prices or terms of delivery.
