At drupa 2008 in Düsseldorf, Germany, callas shows a technology preview of the upcoming new pdfToolbox 4. From the moment drupa 2008 opened its doors on May 29, the callas booth has been crowded with visitors anxious to learn about what the new pdfToolbox 4 will have to offer for them once it is going to ship in July 2008. drupa visitors will be able to check out pdfToolbox 4 for themselves until June 11, 2008 at the callas booth.

This is not just another major version update! pdfToolbox 4 is the result of extensive research about what users really need to get their PDF job done. While built on top of the powerful engine that also drives Preflight in Acrobat Professional since 2003, the user interface has been completely redesigned to meet day to day needs of nearly every user dealing with PDFs. pdfToolbox 4 is not just for the geeks and experts anymore - it's being brought to you by callas to become your permanent companion whether you are a prepress professional or whether dealing in PDF is just one of a zillion challenges you have to tackle.

The deadline is imminent, and you are stuck. Sounds familiar? pdfToolbox 4 now offers a helping hand: it produces a new document in your favorite application – among others, Microsoft Office, Adobe InDesign and QuarkXPress are supported – with the PDF's current content put into the background of each page to be translated. Now you can go about and just put the localized information on top of that background.

Once the localization is complete, create a PDF from it, and let pdfToolbox replace the language in the original PDF by the new localized version. Sounds easy? It is easy.
