pdfToolbox 4 – cool new user interface, dramatically extended feature set

pdfToolbox 4 – Find what you need and just get things done This is not just another major version update! pdfToolbox 4 is the result of extensive research about what users really need to get their PDF job done. While built on top of the powerful engine that also drives Preflight in Acrobat Professional since 2003, the user interface has been completely redesigned to meet day to day needs of nearly every user dealing with PDFs. pdfToolbox 4 is not just for the geeks and experts anymore - it's being brought to you by callas to become your permanent companion whether you are a prepress professional or whether dealing in PDF is just one of a zillion challenges you have to tackle.

Very importantly, pdfToolbox 4 transcends the border between the professional high end requirements like advanced, DeviceLink based color conversion and run of the mill needs like preparing a booklet with the click of a button or preparation of a decent printable handout from a PDF slide presentation. This move comes with an impressive number of completely new features which in the past required a couple of special purpose tools or have simply not been available in the market before - just check out some examples provided below.

Arrange pages

Produce a booklet by the click of a button. Lightning fast. Coffee will have to wait. What prepress professionals refer to as imposition often comes into play in less eclectic forms, be that bookletizing, a simple N-Up to position a bunch of business cards on an ISO/DIN A 3 page, or sandwiching – also known as double burning – two pages on top of each other. pdfToolbox 4 offers a range of push button functions that do not require arcane configurations but either require no parameter selection at all, or one or two simple choices even your grandma can handle.

Prepare language versions

Globalization by PDF: Create localized versions of PDFs painlessly Everyone once in a while runs into this dilemma: You receive a nice product leaflet or slide presentation or what else, and have to produce a translated version of it. The problem is: they only sent you the PDF, no original document from which it was prepared. Or they did it in QuarkXPress, and you only have access to InDesign or Publisher. The deadline is imminent, and you are stuck. Sounds familiar? pdfToolbox 4 now offers a helping hand: it produces a new document in your favorite application – among others, Microsoft Office, Adobe InDesign and QuarkXPress are supported – with the PDF's current content put into the background of each page to be translated. Now you can go about and just put the localized information on top of that background.

Once the localization is complete, create a PDF from it, and let pdfToolbox replace the language in the original PDF by the new localized version. Sounds easy? It is easy.

Look good without much effort

Preparing professional looking handouts from PDF slides for printouts takes less than 5 seconds PDFs are often used to transport content for presentational purpose, whether that's a slide presentation in PDF, a conference handout or dressing up your pages to make them more appealing. pdfToolbox 4 offers a group of features that transform your PDFs into exactly the presentational form you need it in.
