Making corrections to PDF files for printing (2)

Test: Visualization of problems

Click here to get a larger representation. PDF files that are not suitable for printing are not easily recognizable as such at first glance. To get an overview of objects contained in the open PDF file, open the Adobe Acrobat Professional Preflight module as well as pdfCorrect and check the document using the ‘List objects using ICC/Lab/calibrated color’ test profile.

(This module is not available to users of Acrobat Standard or Essential.)

The ‘Results’ tab of the Preflight dialog shows you the most important information on the content of an open PDF file. In our sample PDF file, there is a photo with an unwanted attached ICC profile, an area with white text that is not defined as knockout, and a non-embedded font. The resolution is also too high. In addition, the PDF includes hairlines and additional file information that would prevent trouble-free printing. The aim of the correction process is to eliminate these sources of errors in order to prepare the PDF file for printing.
