The pdfColorConvert module of pdfToolbox boasts a user-friendly interface and requires only three different parameters to be set in order to optimize PDF colors. Only the color space of the original file, the target profile, and the method of treating spot colors need to be defined in order to enable all required conversions. The most important profiles – those based on ISO standards – are delivered with pdfColorConvert and enable professional color management.
By default, pdfColorConvert determines the origin of the file automatically. However, if you wish you can define the source of your PDF file yourself. You use the top section of the tabbed page for this.
You can click on the second section of the tabbed page to select one of various output options including all current printing procedures. For example, you can choose the appropriate procedure for magazines or newspapers in the US.
The third section of the tabbed page merely allows you to define the print color space into which you want to convert the document. You can choose CMYK, CMYK and spot colors, grayscale, or grayscale and spot colors.
Click ‘Convert’ to start the conversion process. This creates a copy of the PDF file being edited.
