Creating transparent objects, smooth shades, and white objects on separate layers (5)

Separating and merging layers at the click of a mouse

Click here to get a larger representation. The newly created layers are displayed in the View palette of pdfLayerMaker (you can also display them in the Layers palette of Adobe Acrobat).

Transparent objects, smooth shades, and white objects are on separate layers following the conversion process. Therefore they can be identified easily. All other page objects contained in the PDF document are placed on an additional level called ‘Other Page contents’.

In our example, background layers are created in addition to the layers for images, texts, and graphics. The different background colors/grids aim to help you to identify white objects more easily on the screen.

Separating and deleting page objects in pdfLayerMaker is as easy as can be: Click on ‘Flatten Layers…’ at the bottom right-hand side of the window to retain currently active layers and completely delete layers that you no longer need.
