Open up pdfToolbox Server 4

After start-up, the main dialog of pdfToolbox Server 4 will be shown.

Select "About" from the fly-out menu

The "About" dialog will open up

The "About" dialog provides information about version numbers and licensing state.

Click on "Activate"

In order to use pdfToolbox Server 4, you need to have a valid activation.

Enter the necessary license information

1) Enter name and company for which the application should be activated. If you have a valid license key, you can enter it in the field "Enter license key". Else choose one of the trial options. You can either request a trial license for pdfToolbox Server 4 or – in case you already have done this and are interested in using the DeviceLink profiles delivered by callas – for the DeviceLink Add-on.

Click on "Request..."

As soon as you have entered all necessary information, click on "Request". A new dialog will show up, containing an automatically generated activation request.

Click on "Send"

When clicking on "Send", a new email with the generated activation request will automatically be created within your default email application. Alternatively, you can paste the text into an email application of your choice or a web interface and send it to license-request-dhsjleihfskbeksjdh@callassoftware.com.

Please note: For some email applications (e.g. Outlook), the automatically generated text is not transferred one-to-one. In this case, please replace the email body manually with the text from the activation dialog.

A few moments later...

At short notice, you will receive a reply email with a license file attached.

Please note: If you do not receive a reply email, please check your junk folder. It can also happen, that you receive a reply email without a license file due to a failed request. In this case, please follow the instructions in this reply email.

Save the license file to the file system

Go back to the activation dialog

1) Click on "Choose" in order to locate the previously stored file.

Click on "Activate"

(1) The button "Activate" is enabled as soon as a path to a license file is available.

Now pdfToolbox Server is activated

After the activation, the license information in the About dialog will have been changed. You can close it by clicking "OK" and afterwards use the pdfToolbox Server 4 for the evaluation period without any restrictions.

Please note that you will need to repeat this procedure for the Add-on license in case you want to perform DeviceLink conversions with DeviceLink profiles provided by callas.
