Membership in Associations and Organizations

Founded in 2006 as the PDF/A Competence Center, the PDF Association exists to promote the adoption and implementation of International Standards for PDF technology. callas software is a founding member of the PDF Association. callas software's CEO Olaf Drümmer has been a board member since 2006, and currently serves as the Chairman of the PDF Association.
Adobe Solutions Partner
The Adobe Solutions Partner program focuses on the provision of high-quality tools, information, and services. The Adobe Solution Partner Products section presents software by various manufacturers which enhance the functions of Adobe products. This section is therefore open to all interested parties. As an Adobe Solutions Partner, callas software also presents its own product portfolio on this platform. In addition, callas software has been successfully participating in events organized as part of the program, such as Adobe Live!, for years.
AIIM - The ECM Association
For more than 60 years, AIIM has been the international authority for Enterprise Content Management (ECM). ECM encompasses tools and technologies that are used to create, archive, manage, distribute, and stage content and documents while taking organizational processes into account. Today, the AIIM is an independent, internationally active representative of the entire ECM industry. callas software is a trade member of AIIM. In addition to taking part in fairs and conferences, callas software unveils new products and publishes product information on AIIM’s international platform.
BITKOM is the face of the ICT industry in Germany. As the federal association we represent businesses in the IT and telecommunications industry and in new media. We represent the interest of over 2,200 businesses, 1,400 of whom are direct members. They include nearly all global players as well as 1,000 powerful small and medium-sized enterprises and numerous founder-managed creative companies.

European Color Initiative (ECI)
ECI is a group for experts. It deals with the media-neutral processing of color data in publication systems. ECI was founded in June 1996 on the initiative of the Bauer, Burda, Gruner+Jahr, and Springer publishing houses. The aims of the ECI include the media-neutral preparation, processing, and exchange of color data on the basis of the color management standards of the International Color Consortium (ICC), the harmonization of data exchange formats between customers and service providers in the publication process, and the definition of guidelines (for example, color space and data format guidelines) for exchanging color data for print media. Olaf Drümmer (Managing Director of callas software) is the chairman of the ECI.
FOGRA - the objective of Fogra Forschungsgesellschaft Druck e.V. [Fogra Graphic Technology Research Association] is to promote print engineering and its future-oriented technologies in the fields of research, development and application, and to enable the printing industry to utilize the results of this activity.
Ghent Workgroup (GWG)
The Ghent Workgroup (GWG) has been compiling recommendations for PDF workflows since 2002. Users can download tested settings for current applications from the GWG website. A range of white papers give an overview of the different areas of GWG’s work. callas software actively performs its tasks as a GWG member and is involved in the compilation of recommendations, white papers, specifications, and test files.
ISO is the International Organization for Standardization. Standard development and publication does also include important PDF based standards like PDF/X, PDF/A or the PDF format itself. callas software actively works with the ISO in the following projects: PDF (ISO 32000), PDF/X, PDF/A, PDF/E, PDF/UA, PDF/VT.
PDFX-ready is an initiative of key players in the Swiss print industry. It supports users in complying with the ISO PDF/X standard. The PDFX-ready initiative provides comprehensive information on all areas of print production in German. The download area includes the following free information: Distiller settings, Adobe Acrobat test profiles, ICC profiles, expert knowledge, step-for-step instructions for Adobe Creative Suite, office products, and so on. Certified members of PDFX-ready indicate to their partners that they are competent in the secure exchange of data. PDFX-ready constitutes the easiest way to ensure quality in printing workflows.
