callas software actively supports international standards and has been participating in ISO, CIP4, the European Color Initiative and the Ghent PDF Workgroup. callas is also a contributing member in organizations and associations of industry leaders and experts including AIIM, Fogra and VOI.

Membership in Associations and Organizations

PDF Association

callas software is a founding member of the PDF Association. Founded in 2006 as the PDF/A Competence Center, the PDF Association is the platform where the future of PDF and related specifications are discussed and developed. In addition, the organization distributes the current standard and promotes its adoption and implementation.


Adobe Solutions Partner

The Adobe Solutions Partner program focuses on the provision of high-quality tools, information, and services. The Adobe Solution Partner Products section presents software by various manufacturers that enhance the functions of Adobe products. This section is therefore open to all interested parties. As an Adobe Solutions Partner, callas software also presents its own product portfolio on this platform.

BITKOM

BITKOM is the face of the ICT industry in Germany. As the federal association we represent businesses in the IT and telecommunications industry and in new media. We represent the interest of over 2,200 businesses, 1,400 of whom are direct members. They include nearly all global players as well as 1,000 powerful small and medium-sized enterprises and numerous founder-managed creative companies.

We offer our members a large network and promote ongoing exchange between experts and managers. Our members have sales of 140 billion Euros annually in Germany and export high tech worth 50 billion Euros. This means that Bitkom represents around 90 percent of the German ICT market.

European Color Initiative (ECI)

ECI is a group for experts. It deals with the media-neutral processing of color data in publication systems. ECI was founded in June 1996 on the initiative of the Bauer, Burda, Gruner+Jahr, and Springer publishing houses. The aims of the ECI include the media-neutral preparation, processing, and exchange of color data on the basis of the color management standards of the International Color Consortium (ICC), the harmonization of data exchange formats between customers and service providers in the publication process, and the definition of guidelines (for example, color space and data format guidelines) for exchanging color data for print media. Olaf Drümmer (Managing Director of callas software) is the chairman of the ECI.

FOGRA

FOGRA - the objective of Fogra Forschungsgesellschaft Druck e.V. [Fogra Graphic Technology Research Association] is to promote print engineering and its future-oriented technologies in the fields of research, development and application, and to enable the printing industry to utilize the results of this activity.

Ghent Workgroup (GWG)

The Ghent Workgroup, formed in June 2002, is an international assembly of industry associations, suppliers, educators and industry members from around the globe. The Ghent Workgroup’s objective is to establish and disseminate process specifications for best practices in graphic arts workflows. Since its inception 20 years ago, the organization has consistently produced numerous process specifications for PDF exchange, as well as developing useful tools for automating processes and testing and establishing consistent PDFs for print, publishing and packaging production.

ISO

ISO is the International Organization for Standardization. Standard development and publication does also include important PDF based standards. callas software actively works with the ISO in the following projects: PDF (ISO 32000), PDF/X, PDF/A, PDF/X, PDF/UA and PDF/VT.

PDFX-ready

PDFX-ready is a forum for key decision-makers to promote secure and efficient data exchange. The association offers training documents, program settings, preflight profiles, test pages and certifications for PDF/X-1a and PDF/X-4 workflows.

By actively participating in the Ghent Workgroup, PDFX-ready benefits from the latest developments in the ISO standard PDF/X. With this knowledge, the association creates profiles for data creation and preflight profiles to control secure print data transfer.

With its various certifications, PDFX-ready offers print shops an ideal basis for ensuring that their print data complies with the current PDF/X standard. With a PDFX-ready certificate, printers and media service providers prove to their customers that they are working correctly.


DOXNET

DOXNET - The Document X-perts Network e.V. inspires and motivates companies in the field of document management to transfer knowledge and cooperate and offers access to the largest independent German-speaking industry network.

The professional association addresses decision-makers/planners from the first and second management levels of data centers, insurance companies, banks and IT service providers, IT managers, marketing and organization managers as well as manufacturers active in this field.

Programs, conferences and forums on the effective use of electronic document technologies are offered for this group of people. This creates a network of experts who deal professionally with the entire spectrum of document processing on a daily basis.

The association supports over 700 individual members from around 200 companies and organizations and is represented by an eleven-member board of users as well as hardware and software providers.

As an active member, callas software regularly participates in DOXNET events.
